Sourcing Impacts
Stein & Cie is a merchant banking platform for initiating and sourcing small to medium sized direct investments for private individuals and families in impact related projects and companies.
The activity is part of Anthropocence Ltd a Basel, Switzerland based legal structure founded in 2008 to extract hidden value by leverage the family experiences, access and networks of the Stein family which has a historical record of investing and exits in pharmaceutical, entertainment and cultural activities as well as in sustainable energy businesses and infrastructure projects.

Supporting a direct yield based impact investment approach
A family owned investment platform which is filling the gap of mid/large-size asset impact investments in sustainable infrastructure/ technology on a worldwide scale for themselves and potential interested external investment parties.
The occupation is based on screening and initiating of potential projects through an entrepreneurial IRR approach without any management fees involved before commissioning of the project.
WHAT ARE IMPACT DIRECT INVESTMENTS ?
Impact direct investments are long-term investments made into projects/ companies with the intention to generate social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Potential investments areas are based on the ambition to support demographic challenge, climate change, technological revolution and innovation by investing with a disruptive and ethical approach to avoid any negative performance including carbon risk.
OUR APPROACH AND COMPETENCES
Approach in one conflict free hand
As the platform is continuously sourcing and initiating economic models for its own investment interests on a worldwide scale for potential de-risked impact investments it could add and propose deals on a stand-alone or pool base to interested private/ family or corporate investors.
Stein&Cie is mostly setting up special vehicles for any investments which makes it easy for any third parties to join in the above described forms.
The activity is based on a merchant bank club model and is not involved in any financial advisory activity based on a conflict of interest business model and management fees.
The main interest for the family on top of finding the right investments is the introduction of conflict free and real impact values to third financial parties, which they missed in the existing supporting financial sector.
Stein&Cie combines the following in-house experiences: Initiating, sourcing, project management, financial modeling and control. Execution is contracted to a selected array of local and international historical partners.
